Ctrip Launches Holiday Planning Service

Chinese online travel provider Ctrip (Nasdaq: CTRP) has announced it will open a holiday information center in the city of Sanya, Hainan province. This marks the first time Ctrip has opened an information center at a tourist destination to provide information services for travelers.

According to Zhang Yang, the general manager of Ctrip, the new service is a tentative push into building a support system for the tourism market, and aims to provide Ctrip members with comprehensive information services about their tourist destination, as well as recommending Sanya travel products and offering booking and other services. At the same time, it is hoped the service will help strengthen Ctrip's image, as it provides a combination of both online and offline services.
