Fujian Plans Computer Security Laws

The Fujian provincial standing committee of the People's Congress has agreed to establish laws in the fields identified by a draft proposal on information systems security, and will consider how best to prevent theft of online accounts and property, DDoS attacks and other illegal behaviors.

China's existing property law makes no explicit provisions for items such as instant messaging accounts, e-mail accounts or any other such virtual property.
