Netease Changes Yodao to Youdao

Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) announced today that it would change the English name of its search engine from Yodao to Youdao, and correspondingly change the URL of the search engine to youdao.com. Netease explained that the change was made in order to "conform to Chinese users' language habits" - that is, to match the romanized form of the characters that make up the search engine's name. Youdao also released a beta version 2.0 of its desktop dictionary program today, along with 'Youdao Hot News,' "Youdao Video,' and 'Youdao Music.'
