BYD to Launch Netbook OEM Service

A source from IT components and auto parts manufacturer BYD Company Limited (1211.HK) has revealed that the company's handset component manufacturer subsidiary, BYD Electronic (0285.HK), is actively planning a netbook outsourced manufacturing service, with an R&D team comprised primarily of employees from companies including TCL Computer Technology.
The project is reportedly still in early planning stages and no date has been publicly announced for the launch of the outsourcing service.
