Sony Ericsson Lays Off Chinese Staff

According to industry sources, Sony Ericsson China has completed a large round of layoffs. One employee at the company confirmed the report, saying the cuts were made before the Chinese New Year holiday and there are no plans for further cuts.
The cuts at Sony Ericsson involved a portion of the company's permanent workforce, but hit hardest on outside contract workers. The company laid off several hundred contract workers during job cuts at the end of last year.
