Shanghai Provides Recruitment Subsidies to Outsourcing Firms

Shanghai Morning Post, 2/12/09

A source at the Shanghai Economic Committee and the Shanghai Municipal Informatization Commission recently revealed that the institutions now provide subsidies encouraging the hiring and training of recent university graduates. According to the source, enterprises in Shanghai's software outsourcing industry can obtain a total of RMB 4,500 for each newly hired university graduate that receives specialized training, with training organizations able to obtain another RMB 500 per university graduate. In addition, the Shanghai municipal government has revealed that it will soon begin additional trial subsidies matching the above subsidies at a 1:1 ratio, meaning that enterprises could soon receive a total of RMB 9,000, and training organizations RMB 1,000 for each newly hired university graduate that receives specialized training.
