SK Telecom to Launch B2C Site in China

Sohu IT, 2/13/09

Korean telecom operator SK Telecom (SKT) plans to launch a B2C site, Qianxun.com, in the Chinese market in mid-March. Qianxun is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SKT, and has already received RMB 300 mln of a planned 500 mln investment. Guo Hongchi, former VP of B2C site management software developer ShopEx, is serving as CEO of Qianxun. A preview of the site can already be viewed by the general public, and the products on offer primarily revolve around clothing and jewelry. A statement on the site says Qianxun will connect with retailers around the world to bring users the very latest products.

SK Telecom reportedly has no Korean representatives in Qianxun's management team.
