Netease Tech, 3/07/09

An industry source has stated that China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) is cooperating with software giant Microsoft on Windows Live Messenger to launch an instant messaging software client, "E-surfing Live." Users will be able to access the service to send instant messages, SMS messages and make voice calls, using login credentials for China Telecom's existing 189 mailbox service, which will be linked to a Windows Live Messenger account. In addition, the service will be integrated into China Telecom's One Home package. The product is currently in testing.
