Netease to Change Payment Method for MMORPG

Netease PR, 3/10/09

Chinese online game developer and operator Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) has announced that it will open a new server for its Q-Style MMORPG Fantasy Westward Journey using a different payment model than other servers. The game is still time-based, with RMB 15 purchasing 150 game points, or 37.5 hours of game time, but whereas previously a player could purchase a single game card for use with multiple different characters, on the new server a player needs to purchase separate game points for each of their characters. Unlike other servers, these points can only be used for game time, and cannot be traded with other players/characters.
