China Mobile 2008 Net Profit Up 30%

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) has announced its unaudited financial results for 2008, with operating revenues reaching RMB 412.3 bln, up 15.5% year-on-year.

Net income for the year came to RMB 113.0 bln, up 30% YoY.

During 2008, the company's net increase in new subscribers per month was over 7.3 mln, taking total subscribers to 457 mln. As at December 31, 2008, the company's total voice usage volume was 2.44 trln minutes and the average minutes of usage per user per month (MOU) was 492 minutes. Average revenue per user per month (ARPU) was RMB 83.
