European SNS Purchases Tianji

Chinese online social networking service Tianji.com has confirmed it has been purchased by European SNS Viadeo for over RMB 100 mln. The move follows on from a previous strategic cooperation between the two parties in 2007 that involved resource sharing but not utilization of capital.
At the beginning of 2008, sources say management teams from companies including Tianji, Google, and News Corp met to discuss potential strategic cooperation. Tianji stated that its choice of Viadeo reflects the company's wish to deepen its focus on the professional SNS field.
