MIIT: Jan-Feb Electronics, IT Investment Totals RMB 31 Bln

Fixed asset investment in China's electronics and IT industry totaled RMB 30.66 bln in January and February of this year, up 25.6% over the same period last year. New fixed assets totaled RMB 8.35 bln, up 31.3%. In the same period, 305 new projects started, 60 more than during the same period in 2008 – representing growth of 24.5% - with planned investment totaling RMB 23.6 bln, up 90% over the equivalent figure in 2008.
Investment in the electronics industry totaled RMB 9.14 bln, up 26.9% period-on-period; investment in the electronics and IT machinery industry totaled RMB 4.76 bln, up 118.2%. Investment in communications equipment totaled RMB 1.69 bln, down 23.6%; investment in the computer industry totaled RMB 2.0 bln, up 10.1%. Investment in the home audiovisual equipment industry totaled RMB 680 mln, down 16.4%. Investment in electronic components totaled RMB 5.85 bln, down 0.5%.
