Five-Star to Become First-Tier Apple Retailer

Five-Star Appliance says Best Buy's international headquarters has signed a global strategic partnership agreement with Apple under which Five-Star will become a first-tier Apple retailer with Apple "in-store stores" in 40 of its top locations. Apple manufacturing centers will use "one-stop"-style supply systems to provide products directly to Five-Star outlets.

The first round of Apple "in-store stores" will open in the Nanjing Xinjiekou, Wuxi Shenglimen, Suzhou Shi Lu, Hangzhou Wen San Lu, and Changzhou Guanhe Lu outlets during the Labor Day holiday this May. Before the end of September, 40 stores, covering more than 36 sq. m. of floor space each, will begin sales of Apple computers, iPod products, and Apple peripherals. Some stores will also set up broadband internet connections for customers to try out the computers.
