Rumor: Qiao Xing Group Acquires Freescale

A source reports that the Qiao Xing Group recently acquired Freescale Semiconductor's wireless services division for a large sum of money, granting Qiao Xing Group the rights to some of Freescale's most central IP as well as more than 1,600 R&D staff and equipment.
Freescale's mobile phone chip patents would be of considerable value, particularly in the areas of WCDMA and LTE. The company's wireless services division is one of its four core divisions, and its main clients at present include Fujitsu, Motorola, Research in Motion (RIM), and Samsung.
