Rumor: Unicom to Expand WCDMA Equipment Contracts

An informed source has revealed that as China Unicom (NYSE: CHU, 0762.HK) continues WCDMA network construction in 56 core cities, construction in another 228 cities has also begun. According to internal company data, these 228 cities will not see additional bidding, but will have work allocated according to previous bidding results in order to accelerate the speed of development.
