CSMBC, China Mobile Cooperate on TD-SCDMA/CMMB Netbook

Beijing Morning Post, 5/20/09

Liu Tingjun, deputy general manager of CMMB operator China Satellite Mobile Broadcasting Corporation (CSMBC), said the company is discussing cooperation on a netbook with China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK), and added that China Mobile's specification for customized netbooks will likely incorporate CMMB. Liu mentioned that adding a CMMB module increases the cost of a netbook by approximately RMB 50 - RMB 100.

A number of PC manufacturers are currently said to be working on this kind of netbook, the first of which will be ready for market around July-August 2009.
