Skyworth Releases April 2009 TV Sales Statistics

Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Skyworth Digital Holdings (0751.HK) has released TV set sales statistics for April 2009, with total TV set sales volume for the month reaching 598,000 units, down 21%.

Domestic sales volume of flat-panel sets was up 257% YoY to 383,200 units. Total domestic TV set sales volume for the month reaching 495,000 units, up 14% YoY.

Overseas sales volume for April 2009 came to 103,000 units, down 68% YoY, with sales volume of flat-screen TVs up 20% to 15,000 units.

Editor's Note: Data from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange shows that on May 13, Skyworth shareholder Trophy Asset Management reduced its stake in the company from 6.04% to 4.72%, selling 30 mln shares at an average price of HKD 0.84 each.
