Rumor: Unicom to Introduce iPhone in Q4

In response to foreign media reports that China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) will offer the iPhone on the Chinese domestic market in the fourth quarter, a high-ranking insider at China Unicom said "Negotiations with Apple are ongoing, for the rest, no comment."
Foreign media reports quoted an analyst at Merrill Lynch saying that Unicom and Apple had probably reached an exclusive agreement for 2 years or more, predicting that the iPhone would be released concurrently with the roll out of Unicom's 3G products in the fourth quarter.
