Rumor: Shanda Eyes Animation Site

According to an industry insider, Shanda (Nasdaq: SNDA) has been arranging talks with personnel other than top-level management at Chinese comics and animation website Zongheng.com.

Zongheng.com (http://www.zongheng.com/) is an online platform for user-generated comic and animation content, where comic book enthusiasts can share and follow self-published original works. These include animated storybooks, four panel and multi-panel comics, picture books, wallpapers, illustrated posters, character portraits, publishing industry resources, comics and anime community forums, cosplay resources, collectors paraphernalia and articles.

Another industry source believes that Shanda is seeking animation and illustration teams, and is increasing market share in order to better cultivate new talent. When asked to comment, an executive at Shanda's Beijing office declined to confirm the news.
