Taobao, Alisoft Get Tough on AliTalk Spam

Sina Tech, 7/07/09

Alibaba Group's C2C & B2C e-commerce site Taobao.com and software subsidiary Alisoft are teaming up to curb spamming on Alisoft instant message platform AliTalk, including closing down 4 online stores for serious infractions, and reducing their trust ranking by 3 to 5 points.

Taobao and Alisoft issued a joint statement concerning the battle against spam on AliTalk, outlining penalties including warnings, login restrictions, freezing AliTalk or Taobao accounts, and permanent freezing for the worst offenders. Alisoft will also establish a 24-hour harmful information reporting center within AliTalk's security center.
