TCL Multimedia June TV Sales Down 18% YoY

Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer TCL Multimedia (1070.HK) has revealed its unaudited TV set sales data for June 2009. Total TV sales reached 959,251 units in the month, down 17.7% year-on-year, bringing its 6-month cumulative sales to over 5.2 mln, down 24.4% YoY. Of this, the company sold 616,898 LCD television sets in June, bringing its 6-month cumulative sales to 2.9 mln units, representing year-on-year growth of 60.3% and 93.1% respectively. CRT TV sales were down 56.1% YoY for the month of June to 342,353 units, bringing the total 6-month cumulative sales to 2.3 mln units, down 57.4% YoY.
TCL Multimedia's sales of audio-visual products in June came to nearly 2.0 mln units, up 33.6% YoY, while 6-month sales since January grew by 10.5% to 9.0 mln units.
