Tenpay Launches Utilitites E-payment Service

Tencent (0700.HK) third-party payment platform Tenpay will launch "one-stop" online payment services for utility bills in Beijing, Nanjing, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou. A spokesperson for Tenpay said that users will have the option of paying through the new "Living Expenses" platform on the QQ and Tenpay homepages.

Tenpay has signed memoranda of intent with public transportation card operators in Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen to allow users to recharge their cards through Tenpay. The platform has also begun cooperating with Shanghai Lianhua Supermarkets' OK Card service, and plans to work with the Octopus card in Hong Kong as well.
