Oak Pacific Reveals Latest Game Incubation Plan Details

Tencent Tech, 7/17/09

CEO Joe Chen of Beijing-based holding company Oak Pacific Interactive has revealed the latest details of the company's "V Plan" browser game incubation plan. Chen said that since the half year that the plan has been in effect, three partner companies have already teamed up with Oak Pacific to develop online games, including "Lord of War," which is currently in closed testing, but which Chen expected would be released by the end of the month. Chen said that where Oak Pacific's "V Plan" differs from Shanda's (Nasdaq: SNDA) platform is that Oak Pacific is putting its money on browser games.

Oak Pacific's "V Plan", officially made public last November, allocates RMB 500 mln to support medium to small browser game development teams or acquire their products.
