Beijing to Build "Mobile Valley" in Zhongguangcun

Sina Tech, 7/24/09

The government of Beijing's Chaoyang District has signed a strategic agreement with Beijing Mobile and the TD-SCDMA Industry Alliance to transform the Zhongguancun Electronics City Science Park, located in Beijing's Wangjing area, into China's "Mobile Valley," to serve as a gathering ground for corporate headquarters, R&D centers, and new technology service centers for the wireless telecom industry. The Chaoyang District government has listed the new "Mobile Valley" one of this year's key development projects for the wireless industry. The district is currently home to the China headquarters or R&D centers of multinationals such as Motorola, Ericsson, Nortel, Sony Ericsson, and Samsung, as well as core 3G equipment manufacturers such as TD Tech.
