Shanghai Securities News, 8/06/09

Chinese travel services provider Ctrip's (Nasdaq: CTRP) chief financial officer Jane Sun has revealed that Ctrip increased its holdings of Taiwanese travel site ezTravel in Q2 of this year. Although Ctrip did not disclose specific numbers for the investment, it said that Ctrip started investing in ezTravel in 2006, and began including the company in its financial reports as of Q2 2009.

According to GAAP accounting standards, when a company owns more than a 50% stake or has a majority vote in a subsidiary, the subsidiary must be included in its financial reports.
