Tencent QQ Launches Donation Program

Tencent (0700.HK), developer and operator of Chinese instant messaging (IM) tool QQ, has announced the launch of a monthly charity donation program, whereby QQ users can donate RMB 10 each month online to be rewarded with an icon next to their QQ profile picture. Users who donate more and continue donating will earn icons with higher rankings.

Tencent said that QQ users can choose to which charitable organization to make their donations; Tencent is simply providing the donation platform, and does not charge any fee.
