Guangdong 3G Subscribers Reach 1.91 Mln

According to predictions by Hu Jianbo, deputy director of the Planning and Design Research Institute at the China Academy of Telecommunication Research (CATR), for the three years from 2009 to 2011, Chinese mobile users will grow by approximately 200 mln, reaching a total of 900 mln mobile subscribers, a significant portion of which will be 3G users.

Director He Bing of Guangdong Province's Department of Information Industry said that China's three telecom operators have constructed a total of 33,000 3G base stations in the province, currently serving a total of 1.91 mln subscribers. Guangdong Telecom is in the lead with 1.59 mln 3G subscribers in the province.
