MIIT: "Old for New" Sales Exceed RMB 200 Mln

MIIT, 9/09/09

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has announced that 81,300 old appliances have been recycled in trial provincial cities since the "Old for New" appliance and electronics exchange program began less than a month ago. Among those items exchanged were 46,450 television sets and 5,473 computers. 53,200 new appliances have been sold for sales revenues reaching RMB 200 mln, including 26,840 television sets and 3,038 computers.
