Update: TSMC, SMIC Settle Trade Secret Lawsuit

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (TSMC) has said that it has reached a settlement with Chinese semiconductor manufacturer Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) (NYSE: SMI, 0981.HK) over a trade secrets suit brought by TSMC. SMIC has agreed to pay USD 200 mln, as well as a large amount of unspecified stocks and warrants, to TSMC as compensation. TSMC did not elaborate on any of the other terms of the settlement.
