Redbaby Expands, Targets IPO

Duan Dong, vice president of Chinese B2C e-commerce site Redbaby, has revealed that the company has introduced a professional management system, and is beginning the transition from a startup to a more professional organization. Redbaby was originally focused on maternity and infant products, but has expanded to cosmetics, furniture, health products, medicine, and food, and has focused on becoming a comprehensive e-commerce website.

Duan said that as the company moves forward towards IPO, it has undergone extremely strict audits by securities organizations. The incoming professional managers will increase Redbaby's operational abilities, and enhance its workflow, personnel management, and customer service levels.

Duan said that Redbaby currently employs more than 2,000 people, with its customer service team accounting for more than 50% of the headcount.
