MIIT: 3G Subscribers to Reach 60 Mln This Year

Chen Jinqiao, deputy chief engineer at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's (MIIT) China Academy of Telecommunication Research, predicted that the number of 3G users in China will reach 60 mln this year.

China is currently home to nearly 15 mln 3G users, more than 5 mln of whom are TD-SCDMA users, according to the latest figures from the MIIT.
