Kingsoft Launches Game Incubation Plan

Sina Tech, 1/20/10

At the 2009 China Game Industry Annual Conference (CGIAC), CEO Zou Tao of online game developer Kingsoft (3888.HK) revealed that Kingsoft has already quietly launched a game incubation platform in Zhuhai. The company has invested in three teams, and is willing to allow its own employees to participate in the program.

Zou said that teams benefiting from the incubator will enjoy Kingsoft's support in all aspects, while at the same time maintaining independent operation, with Kingsoft's stake not exceeding 40%.

Zou also said that Kingsoft has not placed an upper cap on the investments it is willing to make under the plan, and that it will invest in any project which it deems worthy.
