China Unicom: No 4G in 2010

Chang Xiaobing, chairman of China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH), recently said that the company's investments this year are not likely to reach that of last year, but that the company will continue investing as needed to support 3G development. Chang said that China Unicom will continue to pursue 4G development and would not rule out establishing a trial network at an appropriate time, but that 4G will not reach the application stage this year. Chang added that China Unicom has no new financing plans for 2010.
