China Adds 36 Firms to Young Gamer Supervision Program

China's Ministry of Culture has announced that following the first test group of six companies to join the Parental Supervision Program for Young Gamers in February, an additional 36 domestic companies have joined on in a second pilot group. The 36 companies include Kingsoft (3888.HK), The9 (Nasdaq: NCTY), Everstar Online Entertainment, Guangyu Huaxia, Netdragon Websoft (0777.HK), Shanghai Posts & Telecommunications Technology, and Powerleader Network (300052.SZ). In addition, social network companies including Oak Pacific, Kaxin001, and Taomee have been included in the scope of the program.

Changyou (Nasdaq: CYOU), Tencent (0700.HK), Perfect World (Nasdaq: PWRD), Shanda Games (Nasdaq: GAME), Netease (Nasdaq: NTES), and Giant Interactive (NYSE: GA) became the first trial group of companies to take part in the program on February 5.
