Group Buy Directory Site Tuanp Approached by VCs

Chinese group purchasing directory site Tuanp.com has reported being approached by several venture capitalists.
Tuanp CEO Wang Wenji said that the site launched at the beginning of March. The company is located in the Xi'an Hi-tech Industries Development Zone, and employs more than 10 staff. Wang said that the product information it collects from group purchasing websites is primarily obtained via two methods: one is technical, and involves real-time scraping of group purchasing websites; the second is via Tuanp's membership registration platform, which allows member group purchasing sites to post and update product information on Tuanp's platform. Tuanp currently connects to 38 group purchasing websites including Meituan.com, Ftuan.com, and Lashou, and collects product information from 28 of these sites.
Wang said that Tuanp's focus will be on vertical search of group purchasing sites. According to Wang's business plan, once Tuanp's traffic grows sufficiently, the site will monetize from both advertising and paid search ranking.
