Rumor: Game Platform 4399 Plans IPO in 2011

Sohu IT, 5/07/10

Chinese online game platform 4399.com is reportedly making preparations to issue A-shares in a domestic IPO likely to materialize next year, according to an industry source.

The source said that 4399 entered into talks to be acquired by game developer and operator Giant Interactive (NYSE: GA) at the end of last year, but Giant was uncertain whether 4399's platform had matured sufficiently.

Founder Mike Cai said 4399's most vital task is to serve its customers and the marketplace.

4399's products include Flash and browser games, gaming clients and online communities. According to company statistics, 4399 has 100 mln users and receives 20 mln daily visits to its games, with 200 mln pageviews each day.
