Tsinghua Tongfang Releases SARFT-Compliant Internet TV

Chinese electronics maker Tsinghua Tongfang (600100.SH) has released its first Internet TV product following the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television's (SARFT) recent issuance of new regulations on Internet TV. CCTV's online TV station China Network TV (CNTV) is to serve as both licensed integrated service and content platform provider for the new Internet TVs, which are now available for sale at a price of RMB 9,990.

Huang Xiangping, GM of the Beijing division of Tongfang's consumer electronics division, said that Tongfang will also release an Internet TV product in partnership with Shanghai-based IPTV operator BesTV in the future.
