Taobao Alliance Sees RMB 2 Mln Daily Revenue Share

Sina, 6/17/10

A representative for Taobao Alliance, the affiliate advertising program of Chinese B2C and C2C e-commerce company Taobao, has said that following the two months after Taobao Alliance's April launch, the program brings nearly RMB 2 mln in daily revenue share to participating sitemasters, sees 400,000 participating advertisers each month, and brings 200 mln daily calls to the Taobao API.

Recent reports said that Chinese search engine Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) was deleting sites from its index that displayed dynamic content from the Taobao Alliance API. Taobao Alliance admitted that, overall, Baidu's actions had impacted use of its API, and that the API now only sees 170 mln daily requests, compared to its previous 200 mln.
