China Mobile Reveals Findings of Billing Investigation

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) has announced results of its investigation into the mobile phone billing problems that were recently the subject of a media expose. The operator found that Hainan Mobile's billing errors were due to a problems as a result of a billing system upgrade; no billing errors were found in Beijing Mobile, nor had the operator changed or deleted billing data, but China Mobile found that Beijing Mobile's bills were not presented clearly enough; and no problems were discovered at Shanghai Mobile. China Mobile said it would quickly address any shortcomings found during the investigation.
