Rumor: Entire Team Leaves with Ex-Perfect World Director

An industry source has revealed that following the pullout of Song Ge, who was formerly board member and second-largest shareholder of Beijing-based online game developer and operator Perfect World (Nasdaq: PWRD), Song took with him the entire team behind Beijing Perfect World Cultural Communication to establish a new movie company.

Perfect World Cultural Communication, established as a subsidiary of Perfect World in August 2008, is mainly engaged in the culture and entertainment industry, including investment, production and distribution of commercial films and TV series.

In the first quarter of 2009, Perfect World increased investment in the subsidiary by RMB 70 mln, bringing its stake in the company to 89%.

Another industry source reported that Chen Yan, GM of Perfect World's gaming division, has given notice along with the director of the company's value-added businesses.
