Sina Tech, 9/27/10

Chinese B2C mail-order, e-commerce and retail operator Mecoxlane International Mail-Order Co., Ltd. will open a 140,000 sqm global operations center in the city of Wujiang in Jiangsu Province.

Mecoxlane president Gu Beichun has stated that the center will handle a range of functions including research, purchasing, distribution, logistics and after-sales service, making it the hub of the company's China operations. Gu pointed out that Mecoxlane already has multiple operations centers throughout China, but plans to continue investing in new centers to keep up with the expansion of business.

According to Gu, the opening of the Wujiang center will allow Mecoxlane to handle over 200,000 outgoing shipments per day, and reduce shipping times by one to two days.
