Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) chief engineer Zhu Hongren said in a recent interview that a number of state-controlled telecom monopolies had recently sought non-governmental investment through a variety of methods. The MIIT is reportedly considering ways of opening the entire telecom industry to SMEs.
