China Approves Samsung, LG LCD Plant Projects

Samsung spokesman James Chung and LG spokesperson Son Young Jun today announced that both companies have been approved to build LCD production facilities in mainland China.

Chung said Samsung's Suzhou 7.5G LCD production facility is expected to go online in 18 months. LG's 8G LCD plant will be capable of producing panels more than 40-inches diagonal in size.
