Microsoft Launches Government Cloud-Computing Project in Chengdu

Sichuan Online, 12/17/10

Microsoft and the Chengdu City Cloud Computing Center have unveiled a cloud-computing-based government information services project: the Chengdu municipal pork quality, safety, and sourcing supervisory system. Utilizing a foundational data platform jointly established by the two parties, the system will allow citizens to enter a code from their retail receipts in order to instantly receive information concerning the origin, distribution channels and inspection record of pork products.
