Online Broadcast Licensing Fees Reach Up to RMB 300K

Beijing Morning Post, 1/13/11

At the 2011 Sohu World Marketing Summit in Beijing recently, Yu Tao, senior editor of Sohu's (Nasdaq: SOHU) Sohu Video, revealed that the "internet price" for a film or television series, if a video site wants exclusive first broadcast rights, is now between RMB 200,000 and 300,000 per episode - double what it was at this time last year.

LeTV (300104.SZ) COO Liu Hong said several days ago that the "internet price" for film and TV series now exceeds what it would be for a first-tier cable or satellite broadcaster, and that there is still plenty of room for prices to rise further.
