Huawei, Chinese Publisher Invest in Digital Literature JV

The China South Publishing & Media Group and Chinese telecom equipment and terminal manufacturer Huawei signed a strategic partnership agreement recently under which the two companies will cooperate to develop a global digital publishing and operations platform.

Under the terms of the agreement, China South and Huawei will invest in and restructure China South subsidiary Tianwen Digital Media, with each company investing RMB 150 mln.

Following the restructuring and investment, Tianwen will have registered capital of RMB 320 mln, 51% of which will belong to China South. China South and Huawei will work to develop markets domestically and overseas for e-books and e-reading, electronic education, and professional reading materials.
