Lenovo: TD-SCDMA LePhone Delayed Indefinitely

Sina Tech, 1/26/11

Zeng Guozhang, VP of Lenovo (0992.HK) subsidiary Lenovo Mobile, recently told Sina Tech that the TD-SCDMA LePhone, which began development in 2010, has been delayed indefinitely due to Lenovo's recently announced corporate restructuring.

Zeng revealed that the restructuring of Lenovo's mobile internet business could be complete before the Chinese New Year holidays. On January 18, 2011, Lenovo announced the establishment of a new division, the Mobile Internet and Digital Home Business Group (MIDH). The group's businesses will encompass tablets, smartphones, cloud computing, smart TVs and the digital home.

Zeng added that Lenovo will continue to invest in the OPhone, and is preparing to update early versions of the OPhone.
