Zhonglu Acquires 20% Stake in Chinese Input Hardware Developer

Chinese information processing software developer and semiconductor chip designer Shanghai Digital Technology, which sells its products under the brand Genitop, recently announced that it had received USD 14 mln of funding from venture capital firm Zhonglu, in return for which Zhonglu will hold a 20% stake in Shanghai Digital Technology.

Shanghai Digital Technology, established in November 2002, primarily focuses on the development and production of Chinese character information processing software and hardware. Since late 2004 the company has launched more than 20 of its Chinese-character font chips as well as its Chinese character input method software, both used in a wide range of mobile phones, LED advertising screens, digital TVs, and set-top boxes.
