Update: MIIT Releases 2010 Electronics & IT Industry Statistics

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released its 2010 report on the state of the electronics and IT industry, showing that electronics and IT industry manufacturers of significant scale achieved total revenues of RMB 7.8 trln, up 29.5% YoY.

Production volume of TV sets reached 118 mln units; handset reached 998 mln units; microcomputers 246 mln units; and digital cameras 90 mln units. Total revenues for the electronic component and electronic device industries rose 29.4% YoY and 39% YoY respectively. LCD TV sets accounted for 75.5% of total TV sets shipped, more than 20% of which were LED TV sets. Notebooks accounted for 75.6% of total computer shipments, while sales of tablets and all-in-one desktops both grew more than 30% YoY.

Total value-added output for China's IT industry is expected to grow by approximately 15% YoY in 2011, while software industry revenues are expected to rise approximately 25% YoY.
