Rumor: Alibaba Group Acquires Web Analytics Firm

Sohu IT, 2/22/11

According to an industry source, Alibaba Group recently finalized its purchase of Chinese third-party web analytics provider CNZZ for more than USD 15 mln. Another source within CNZZ claims that the company has essentially ceased operations in anticipation of a merger with Alibaba.

Domain name investor and CNZZ chairman Mike Cai has denied the speculation, claiming an announcement would have been made if it were true.

CNZZ is a free domestic Chinese web analytics supplier specializing in third-party data analysis for a variety of websites.
